Hi! That’s me … I’ve been super into photography since I was about 12 when I got my very first camera as a birthday gift. Since then, I’ve been the annoying friend who always needs to take a group shot and brings a tripod to a Christmas party. Landscapes, wildlife, pets, and artsy b&w photos are pretty much where most of my memories come from.
Wedding and proposal photography is truly something I am passionate about. I love seeing people at their happiest and help them capture some of the best days and moments of their lives. I know being in front of a camera doesn’t come naturally to most… so I aim to always try and make a connection with my subject (you!) so I can make you feel as comfortable as possible.
Other than photography, I ‘collect hobbies’ apparently. I love spending time with my dog on walks, going camping, offroading, motorcycles, house plants, board games… etc. so I’ve always got a hobby in common with everyone I meet!

Hello, I’m Allison! With a husband this passionate about photography, how could I not get into wedding photography myself?! I have developed a great love for capturing candid moments and meeting brides, grooms, and their friends and family on their happiest day. I absolutely love candid shots! I want to be there to capture your mom giving you a hug, or your dad wiping away a tear while walking you down the aisle.
Having been to countless weddings both as a guest and photographer, I know exactly which moments to look out for as a second photographer. My job is to focus on the beautiful ‘unseen’ moments you didn’t even realize were happening!
Other than photography, I love going for hikes with my dog, playing board games, painting (by numbers, I’m not that good!), and travelling.
The Dream Photography Team!
We’ve been together since 2012, so after all these years, we’ve gotten pretty good at communicating without actually talking. A look across a wedding hall is often enough to know what the other person is seeing or where they need to be. We’ve worked together enough that it doesn’t feel like two photographers competing for the same shot… we naturally split up, cover different parts of the day and keep out of each other’s way. You get two photographers, two perspectives, and a whole lot more of the day captured, but it still feels like one cohesive team.
We use the same camera brands, same settings, and even the same memory cards. Your photos look like they’ve been taken by one person rather than two separate cameras.

I’ve been “the guy with the camera” for a very long time

So when I’m photographing your wedding, I’m not just showing up with a camera. I genuinely love this stuff.
You really don’t have to know how to pose
Most people aren’t professional models, and most of my couples tell me they’re awkward in front of a camera. That’s completely fine. I’ll guide you when you need direction, but I also want you to actually enjoy yourselves. A big part of my job is getting you comfortable enough that the camera eventually becomes an afterthought.
I’ve seen a little bit of everything
I can’t say I’ve seen it all, but I have seen tiny backyard ceremonies, surprise proposals, rainy wedding days, dogs in wedding clothes, huge family groups, mountain overlooks, beaches, golf courses, and everything in between. Beyond being your photographer, I want to share what I know so you can feel confident knowing I’ve always got your back!
My Approach to Wedding Photography
My approach to wedding photography is pretty simple: I want your photos to feel like you. I’m not an editorial photographer, and I’m not going to turn your wedding into a fashion shoot. I’ll absolutely help you with posing and give you direction when you need it (because standing in front of a camera and magically knowing what to do is not exactly a normal human skill), but I’m also looking for all the little moments happening in between. The nervous laughs, the huge smiles, the way you look at each other when you think nobody is watching, the chaos when everyone is trying to get a group photo together. I love using natural light and real environments to create photographs that feel emotional and natural, while still giving you those beautiful, polished portraits you’ll actually want hanging on your wall.
Over the years I’ve photographed everything from tiny ceremonies and intimate elopements to full wedding days, surprise proposals and couples sessions all over Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. Parks, beaches, mountain overlooks, conservatories, backyards, golf courses, city streets… I’ve learned that there really isn’t one “perfect” setting for a wedding. I’m much more interested in making the most of wherever your day happens to take us, rain or sunshine. My goal is for you to look back at your photos years from now and remember not just what everything looked like, but what it felt like to be there.

As early as possible - the more time we have to prepare and confirm your date the better. Plus, my rates go up every year… so book now!

It depends, because every event and couple is different. If we do many locations and poses, you’d get a lot more photos. If you really want an answer, you can expect around 100 photos/hour. You do NOT need to pick a few photos like some photographers make you do (e.g. pick 300 of your favourites).

Yes, for an extra $1,000 per photo shoot regardless of the duration.

Online using a cloud hosting platform (typically MS OneDrive). You can request a USB stick or SD card mailed or picked up if you really want - you just have to pay for the USB stick or SD card and postage.

Typically yes. It happens: your ceremony or speeches go longer than expected and you still need time to photograph the first dance. The cost for additional hours will be listed within your contract.
