Soleil and Matt’s wedding at Seymour Golf & Country Club in North Vancouver was heartfelt from the very beginning. The first time Matt saw Soleil was as she walked down the aisle with her father. It was an emotional, intimate ceremony surrounded by the forested landscape and mountain setting that makes Seymour Golf & Country Club such a beautiful North Vancouver wedding venue.
After the ceremony, we stayed on the grounds for family and wedding party photographs, making use of the golf course, surrounding greenery, and natural scenery throughout the property. Seymour Golf & Country Club sits at the base of Mount Seymour among mature fir and cedar forest, while the clubhouse and patio overlook the golf course, giving couples plenty of beautiful surroundings for wedding photographs without having to travel between locations.
Soleil and Matt’s wedding was a great example of how meaningful moments, beautiful surroundings, and the people closest to you can come together for an elegant yet relaxed North Vancouver wedding.

Before the Ceremony
So much of a wedding happens before the ceremony even begins. Couples spend months planning the details, making things by hand, choosing flowers, and creating little touches that make the day feel personal. Soleil even hand-crocheted a small gift for each of her guests, giving everyone something meaningful to take home. At Seymour Golf & Country Club, the large windows, natural light, and views of the surrounding golf course and trees created a beautiful setting for all those carefully planned details to come together.
Before the ceremony, I took some time to photograph the wedding details and get familiar with the setting at Seymour Golf & Country Club. The property has a beautiful natural backdrop, with mature trees, open golf course views, and plenty of greenery surrounding the clubhouse. Inside, the reception space was bright and spacious, with large windows bringing in plenty of natural light. It made for a beautiful North Vancouver wedding setting, with the scenery becoming part of the day without taking attention away from the people.
The Ceremony
Soleil and Matt’s ceremony took place inside the clubhouse, with their good friend officiating in front of the stone fireplace. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, the ceremony was personal and heartfelt, with plenty of happy tears throughout. Having someone who knew them personally lead the ceremony made the moments feel particularly meaningful. The natural light coming through the large windows kept the room bright while everyone gathered to watch them exchange their vows.
Family & Wedding Party Photos
After the ceremony, we headed outside for family and wedding party photographs around Seymour Golf & Country Club. The property offers plenty of variety for wedding portraits, with open areas of the golf course, mature trees, and natural surroundings all within easy reach of the clubhouse. We were able to move between a few different spots without having to leave the venue, keeping things relaxed while giving the photographs some variety. It's one of the advantages of a North Shore wedding venue with so much natural scenery right outside the door.
Bride & Groom Portraits
This part of a wedding is my favourite. I always try and give the couples a few moments to be by themselves and enjoy the moment… you just got married! The way Soleil and Matt were together was simply beautiful. Nothing felt forced or overly posed. The little glances, the smiles, and the way they naturally gravitated toward each other said plenty on their own. They are the kind of couple who make you notice the love between them… not because they have to show it, but because it is simply there.
Seymour Golf & Country Club gave us plenty of options for couple’s portraits without ever needing to leave the property. We wandered through the grounds for photos by the fountain, out into the open grassy areas, and under the trees where we found a little shade and beautiful filtered light. Soleil’s dress looked incredible against the natural surroundings, especially in the warm afternoon sun. Having so much variety around the venue allowed us to create a mix of romantic portraits and more relaxed photographs that still felt like the two of them.
Reception & Dinner
The reception continued inside Seymour Golf & Country Club with a sunny afternoon, great food, drinks, and a buffet dinner that was enjoyed by everyone. The staff did an excellent job looking after the guests throughout the meal, allowing Soleil and Matt to focus on enjoying the celebration with their friends and family. The speeches brought plenty more emotion, with heartfelt stories, laughter, and more than a few tears filling the room.
Party Time!
The evening began on the dance floor with Soleil and Matt’s first dance, followed by a father-daughter dance and a son-mother dance. Each had its own feeling, from the quiet emotion of the family dances to the more playful moments between the newlyweds, including some impressively choreographed moves from the couple. There were plenty of smiles, a few tears, and some very genuine moments between them and the people they love.
Once the formal dances were finished, the room quickly shifted from heartfelt to full-on celebration. With everyone together in the same Seymour Golf & Country Club space, the dance floor filled up with great music, plenty of dancing, and the kind of moments that don't need much direction from a photographer. These are often some of my favourite parts of a wedding day, the planned moments are finished, everyone has relaxed, and people are simply enjoying themselves together.
