A proposal happens in a matter of seconds, but you'll remember that moment for the rest of your lives.

I photograph surprise proposals throughout Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, staying discreet so you can focus on the question while I focus on capturing the reaction. I have experience not just capturing surprise proposals, but also planning them from start to “will you marry me?”

As an experienced proposal photographer, I know the best spots around Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. I can find the perfect spot based on your combined interests and your vision for where you would like to start your next chapter together.

Next Day Sneak Peeks

You just got engaged, and you want to share the happy news! Who wants to wait weeks or months for photos? Ain’t nobody got time for that! I provide same-day or next-day sneak peeks of a few key moments from your proposal. Go ahead, send it to grandma, post it on Instagram or Facebook, print pamphlets and get them thrown out of an airplane!

  • Having a big camera in your face is unnatural for most of us. That is why I always keep things light and let you and your partner decide how much of a “photoshoot” you want after the proposal. I find a balance between posing you versus capturing natural and candid moments with your partner. My goal is to keep things relaxed so you can be as naturally “you” as possible!

  • Umm yes please! I’d be happy to travel to you, with you, or arrange something on your behalf. We could even take a helicopter to the top of a mountain if you want (yes really, I can arrange that).

  • I have experience with many styles of surprise proposals. From hiding in the bushes, to pretending to be a tourist, or a couple asking me to take their photo, I’ve done it all. It really depends on the proposal and location, so get in touch and we can discuss the best way to capture your special moment.

More than just the question.

The question itself is only the beginning.

Proposals happen so fast, it’s hard to remember it all. From the nervous excitement beforehand, to the hug, the tears, the laughter and the realization that they just said yes, there's so much happening around those few seconds!

I'll be there to capture all of it, including the moments you don't see yourself.

My approach is discreet and unobtrusive. I won't turn your proposal into a spectacle (unless you want it to be!). I'll let the moment unfold naturally, stepping in when the time is right and giving you just enough direction after to create a few beautiful portraits together.

The actual proposal might only last a few seconds, but there’s a lot you’ll want to remember. I’m there to stay out of the way, let you have the moment, and quietly photograph everything as it happens. Once they’ve said yes, we can slow things down and take some photos of the two of you while the excitement is still fresh.

I’ll help you figure out the plan beforehand too: where to do it, where I’ll be standing, when to make your move, and what happens afterwards.
