Capilano Suspension Bridge Proposal — Kaya & Sanjana

Kaya had a pretty incredible plan for proposing to Sanjana: right in the middle of the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge, high above the Capilano River and surrounded by the towering West Coast rainforest. The bridge stretches 137 metres across the canyon and sits 70 metres above the river, making it one of Vancouver’s most dramatic proposal locations.

Having that iconic North Vancouver landmark to themselves created a surreal feeling, with no crowds or strangers around to take away from the moment. As a proposal photographer, getting to quietly document something that normally happens in one of Vancouver’s busiest attractions was pretty special.

After the proposal, we explored Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and photographed Kaya and Sanjana throughout the rainforest, capturing the excitement of what had just happened against the towering trees, canyon, and iconic bridge. It was an unforgettable setting for a Vancouver surprise proposal, and a pretty incredible way for these two to start their next chapter together.
